    Buwon Myeonok

    04529 41-6, Namdaemun Market 4-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul

Located near Hoehyeon Station, Buwon Myeonok in Namdaemun Market has been a traditional restaurant run by three generations since 1960. It has been selected as a century-old store, and although it has seen an increase in visitors after being featured on the Jeon Hyun-moo Plan broadcast, it has long been a favorite among market vendors and local office workers. The signature dishes include Mul Naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) and Bibim Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), along with JeYuk Muchim (spicy pork salad) and Dak Muchim (spicy chicken salad), as well as Bindaetteok (mung bean pancake). The Mul Naengmyeon has a rich meaty flavor and a well-balanced seasoning, making it less intimidating for first-time eaters. The noodles are chewy, made from a blend of buckwheat and sweet potato starch, and are complemented by pickled cucumbers and thick slices of meat. The Bindaetteok is crispy and flavorful as it is pan-fried in pork fat. The JeYuk Muchim and Dak Muchim are served with vinegar, mustard, and a special sauce, making them great accompaniments to the cold noodles, and during peak lunch hours, there can be a line to get in.
