Formerly beloved as 'Florida Banjum' in Hapjeong, this place has been reborn in 2023 with a new name, attracting customers with its unchanged flavors. The charm of Hyojaeru lies in its authentic Chinese dishes made with fresh ingredients. The crispy sweet and sour pork boasts an exceptional texture, earning it the nickname of meat tanghulu, and thanks to its unique preparation with sauce, it maintains its crunchiness indefinitely. Particularly, the sweetness of the sauce adds a distinctive allure that sets this place apart. The seafood jjambbong captivates customers with its rich seafood and clean broth flavor. The burgers are quite thick and visually appealing with their beautiful bun colors, and many found them easier to eat than expected. The second floor offers a great view of the Jeju sea, enhancing the atmosphere. However, some side dishes like cheese fries or onion fries might taste a bit salty or greasy, while others preferred the regular French fries for a more satisfying experience. The entrance is marked with a blue ribbon, making it stand out, and it’s particularly impressive that they boast a cumulative sales figure of 300,000 salt breads. The menu features Alpine salt bread, ciabatta, baguette sandwiches, and jambon-beurre sandwiches, along with desserts like vanilla flan. They also offer coffee, berry drinks, and decaffeinated tea. Due to the store layout, it primarily focuses on takeout, and parking is available for free for the first hour. The salt bread I tried was moist and flavorful whether it was warm or cold, pairing well with milk, and the baguette sandwich was surprisingly not too hard, making it easy to enjoy. With friendly service, it’s a great bakery to stop by, and I highly recommend giving it a visit.
